The team behind Acorn Commercials
Nimble and responsive – that’s what a lot of our clients say about us. We may be a small team, but we punch above our weight when it comes to knowledge and experience in the commercial and vehicle cleaning and infection control industries.
Acorn Commercials was established in 2004 by Seb Thomas. Seb started out valeting cars at the age of 18 and quickly moved on to working on commercial vehicles. He became well known for his attention to detail and this brought clients back time and again, so it was only natural that he set up his own limited company before long.
He has been gaining experience from every job ever since, without ever losing that personal touch that has become what defines him and his team’s work. Some call him fussy, he just likes to be known as having high standards – it’s what he knows his clients expect.
Acorn Commercials is made up of a small, well-trained and qualified team of three whose skills are complementary and who work to the same high standards. We operate as a family with little staff turnover, and this is reflected in our work and our client relationships.

We are experts in commercial cleaning for vehicles and buildings. We understand how the industry works and what the standards you need to meet are. Our services include:

Our process
Following an initial enquiry, our first step will be to undertake a site visit to better understand the nature of the work. This will help us to fully tailor a quote to meet your needs. It also allows us to check and ensure that all the necessary health and safety standards can be met while we work. Our 20 years of experience and knowledge of the commercial cleaning industry means that we know exactly what needs to be done and our quotes will reflect that clearly.
Our Acorn Commercials team takes a detailed and personal approach to each job, no matter where it is or how quickly it needs to be turned around. On completion, we provide a hygiene certificate, where required, and take before and after photographs to document our work for your records.

For a small company, we have some large clients. We like to think that it’s because of our attention to detail and expertise, but we suspect that our close relationship with them is an important factor too, and that’s something we’re proud of.
We are well known in the industry, and all our work comes from existing clients and recommendations. The Acorn Commercials name is synonymous with excellence and professionalism and we aim to keep it that way.

Our qualifications and insurance
All our staff are trained to the highest standards and will only carry out work for which they are qualified. We are one of the few commercial cleaning providers capable and certified to work at height and our work in infection control requires specialist certification. We therefore hold the following:
- IPAF 3a/3b Operator – allowing us to safely operate mobile vertical machines better known as scissor lifts or cherry pickers
- Zenith Infection Control – a leading provider of safety training and certification
We hold standard insurance cover including professional indemnity, public liability and employer’s liability insurance, giving you peace of mind that should something go wrong we are covered and you and your property are safe.
